Frequently Asked Questions
What is the minimum length of a charter?
Your sea voyage can be as long as you want: from several hours to several weeks. Contact us to receive a custom quotation for your cruise. If you are considering renting a yacht for 7 days or longer, you can inquire about a discount.
Do I have to pay VAT on my charter fee?
Yes, most yacht charters include the local 7% VAT in the cost.
How can I top up APA? What happens to any unused APA?
The captain manages all expenses within the APA. You can request a report at any time, and a final report will be provided after the charter. If expenses exceed the prepaid APA during the trip, additional funds will be requested. All outstanding bills must be settled before the charter ends. Any unused APA will be refunded in full.
Can a yacht be relocated to any port for embarkation?
Yes, you can embark or disembark from a location other than the yacht's home port. Relocation fees may apply, and your Charter Manager will discuss these details with you when booking.
Am I covered by insurance?
All yachts come with comprehensive insurance and general accident policies as required by local regulations. However, we recommend all guests carry personal health insurance to cover accidents, hospital, and repatriation costs, as well as cancellation or curtailment insurance.
For more details, please refer to our Terms and Conditions.
What are the payment terms for a charter?
A deposit of 50% of the charter rate is required upon booking your yacht. The final balance, along with an Advance Provisioning Allowance (if applicable), must be paid 14-40 days before your charter begins.

Payments can be made via bank transfer (bank fees are not included in the charter rate), by credit card (+3% commission), or via PayPal (+4.4% commission).
What is included and not included in the charter rate?
For 1-2 day charters, the rate usually includes transportation to the pier, fuel, food, and drinks.

For longer charters, pricing typically follows the APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) model. The charter rate covers the yacht, its equipment, crew, and marine risk insurance. Expenses like food, drinks, fuel, port fees, customs clearance, utilities, laundry, and return transfers are covered by the APA, which is payable 1 month before the voyage and usually amounts to 10-30% of the charter fee. These funds are given to the captain to provision the yacht before your arrival.
Do I have to tip the captain and crew?
Gratuities for the crew typically range from 5-10% of the charter cost and can be adjusted based on your satisfaction. The best way to distribute tips is by giving them to the captain, who will share them equally among the crew.
Can I specify the food and wine to be served on board?
Before your charter, we will ask you to complete our Charter Booking Form, where you can list your culinary preferences, dietary restrictions, medical requirements, and desired activities. This helps us organize your voyage to suit your needs.
Bareboat Charter requirements?
You’re required to provide us with the necessary certificates for VHF and sailing in order to qualify for the bareboat charters.
